One of our objectives is to do charitable and philanthropic works as resources allow, e.g. – helping community members in time of needs, e.g. jobs, sickness, funerals etc.; helping new community members to settle in; and providing occasional aid to underprivileged people of Bangladesh in education, employment, disaster relief ….
The flooding in Bangladesh has intensified, with recent reports from Prothom Alo highlighting the severity of the situation. Fund Raising for Flood Victims in Bangladesh 2019
Dear Community Members,
Recent Flooding in Bangladesh has gotten worse; over 3 million people have been already affected in 21 Districts, mostly in the Brahmaputra river basin. We cannot help them all, but collectively, we can help some. Our responsibility is to the victims and the land we originated from.
Previously, we distributed your donations most transparently and efficiently through local administration and volunteers. In 2017, we raised and distributed Tk.5,05,000 among 505 flood victim families (Tk.1000 each family).
Following our established policies, we will confirm that your donation reaches to the real victims with no or negligible overhead cost. Our fundraising will continue until July 31, 2019.

130 flood victim families of Biral Upazila, Dinajpur received Tk.1000 each. A total of 1.3 Lakh Taka, funded by BAFA, was distributed among the flood victims by Biral Upazila UNO and ADM, Dinajpur on September 7, 2017. We would like to thank the local organizers and all those who have donated through BAFA. This ends our relief work for the victims of the recent devastating flood in Bangladesh. BAFA has distributed a total of Tk. 505,000 among 505 flood victims of Lalmonirhat, Naogaon and Dinajpur districts.

200 flood victim families of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazilla received Tk.1000 each. A total of 2 lakh Taka, funded by BAFA, was distributed among the flood victims by Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazilla Parishad on August 31, 2017. The Upazilla and Union Parishad Chairmen were present in this Relief Program. We would like to thank all those who have donated through BAFA. Second phase of our Relief Program is scheduled on September 1, 2017 before Eid at Naogaon Pouroshova, Naogaon.

দেশের বন্যাদুর্গত মানুষের টানে দোকানে দোকানে সাহায্যের বাক্স রেখে এবং দ্বারে দ্বারে ঘুরে অর্থ সংগ্রহের অনন্য দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছেন নিউ ইয়র্কের আলবানী সিটি প্রবাসী জনাব মোহাম্মদ শাহজাহান। তিনি, তাঁর ছোট ভাই হাফিজ, রেস্টুরেন্ট জুয়েল অফ ইন্ডিয়া, রেস্টুরেন্ট কারী হাউজ এবং আলবেনী সিটির বাংলাদেশী প্রবাসীরা মিলে প্রায় $২৫০০ অর্থ সংগ্রহ করেছেন। উল্লেখ্য আলবেনীর বাংলাদেশী জনগোষ্ঠি অন্যান্য বড় শহরের তুলনায় সংখ্যায় অনেক অনেক কম। এই অর্থের বিরাট একটি অংশ জনাব শাহজাহান নিজেই দান করেছেন। আমরা ওনাকে জোর করে রাজী করিয়ে কিছু ছবি তুলেছি আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করার জন্যে। আমরা অনেকেই মনে করি দান খয়রাত গোপনে করা উচিত। এটা যেমন সত্য তেমনি ধর্মে মানবসেবায় প্রতিযোগীতাকে উৎসাহিত করা হয়েছে। আমাদের ধারণা তার এই মহৎ উদ্যোগে উৎসাহিত হয়ে ভবিষ্যতে আরো অনেকেই মানবসেবায় এগিয়ে আসবেন। (নীচের ছবিগুলোতে জনাব শাহজাহান অফ হোয়াইট পলো গেঞ্জী পরে রয়েছেন)

I acquired knowledge of the horrific flood that recently occurred in Bangladesh. I admire the initiative of BAFA to raise funds for the flood victims, as I think we owe it to the people of our motherland. Hurricane Mathew Relief Effort for Haiti 2016
We would like to thank you for joining us in Hurricane Mathew Relief Effort for Haiti. Besides your direct donation online, BAFA volunteers collected bottled waters from our very kind neighborhood and placed them in State designated donation bins. One of BAFA's main goals is to encourage our kids to be involved helping humanity in need. A nine year old kid named Naura (daughter of Abdullah Khan Tushar) stepped up in this relief effort and collected donations in her neighborhood and supermarkets. Please be with us and together we will encourage more Naura involved in the society representing our values.
